XYZ to Close at the W to Make Way for the More ‘Localist’ Trace

The release went out this afternoon that XYZ restaurant at the W Hotel will be shuttering after Sunday to make way for a new, more “localist” restaurant called Trace. Executive Chef Paul Piscopo will remain at the helm along with newly appointed forager Alaun Grimald — yes, we now have a hotel restaurant with its own forager, folks. Renowned Bay Area architect Stanley Saitowitz, who did the original design for Conduit, has been tapped to do the design, and we already have a rendering that looks pretty fun. The vague ETA is “summer,” and in the meantime the hotel bar and lounge will remain open and serving food. [Grub Street]
