What Will Become of Kurve and E.U. Spaces?

Tom O’Byrne, owner of Dempsey’s and Slainte, has taken great pains to present his new project in the old Kurve space as a restaurant with a craft-beer focus, but members of the East Fifth Street Block Association don’t like the fact that he wants to stay open till as late as 3:30 a.m., and EV Grieve reports that they’ll oppose the project at Monday’s community board meeting. Meanwhile, that blog also notices that former Bette GM Byron Bates will be involved in another Monday hopeful — the venue that’s taking over the Tonda/E.U. space.
