Starting this Saturday, AOC will start serving weekend brunch. This means Suzanne Goin’s small plates and wine bar will be firing up the wood-burning oven for a puff pancake with blueberries and pistachio, pain perdu with smoked bacon and caramelized apples, and a frittata with Hook’s cheddar and young broccoli. In addition, Goin will have pastries from Tavern on-hand, as well as morning creations like “Javier’s chorizo verde chilaquiles,” a smoked fish plate, and duck confit with mushroom hash. There’s also a place for the AOC burger on this menu, plus sides like Vande Rose bacon, grilled blueberry bread, and a market fruit plate. Meanwhile, co-owner and sommelier Caroline Styne is developing a selection of fresh fruit mimosas to go with the new brunch, with reservations most likely a must-have at 323-653-6359, though walk-ins will be taken as space permits.
