While John Cuevas recently joined Crow Bar and Kitchen in Corona del Mar, a new chef is jumping into his old shoes over at Montage Beverly Hills. The hotel’s PR team reaches out this morning to let us know that Gabriel Ask has been hired as the hotel’s new executive chef. Ask got his start with Thomas Keller at French Laundry before working with Alain Ducasse and Joel Robuchon, then serving a stint at The Bellagio Hotel. He was last the executive sous at The Resort at Pelican Hill. Just about the only part of The Montage he won’t be all over in his new role is Scarpetta, with Ask in control of the private dining, catering, and events here, as well as the rooftop restaurant The Conservatory.
