Sexual Harassment Claims Lead to Staff Walkout at Gordon Ramsay at the London

The Post is reporting today that male chefs at Gordon Ramsay’s midtown restaurant in the London NYC (which he no longer owns, but to which his tarnished famous name is still affixed) have staged a walkout after female commis Janet Kim filed a complaint with the state, saying that she was sexually harassed while working there. The restaurant has evidently been closed since Saturday, and won’t reopen until next Tuesday.

Kim tells the Post that she was “groped, called a ‘whore’ and propositioned for oral sex,” and that when she complained about it, she was sent to “the c–t corner” to “make tiny hors d’oeuvres.”

When she returned to work after “taking time off for her nerves,” the restaurant’s male chefs refused to work with her, leading to eventual suspensions without pay. A hostess told the paper that the restaurant was having “labor issues.”

But it’s not all bad news for customers who might have been hoping to eat at the restaurant! The staff that is still working there is referring potential guests to Daniel and Le Cirque — which are both, by all accounts, better restaurants anyway.
