There’s been no shortage of outlandish and eccentric burger monstrosities coming out of the kitchen at P.Y.T. in the year and a half since it first opened at the Piazza. In that time owner Tommy Up has churned out one stoner-licious creation after the other. A Korean short rib burger, a Krispy Kreme burger, and a chicken and waffles burger are just a few examples of his handiwork. But while this gonzo burger shtick is certainly old, it shows little sign of wearing thin. This week Up has outdone himself again with a Frito Pie burger. It’s a beef patty topped with Fritos, housemade chili, cheese, sour cream and jalapenos. In homage of the Southern specialty, it’s served in a foil Frito’s bag. It’s available now through the end of the week.
