Moon Krapugthong Recreates Her James Beard Dinner at Chabaa Thai

Moon Krapugthong, the talent and brains behind Manayunk’s Chabaa Thai, the recently shuttered Mango Moon and forthcoming Yanako, exceeded her own expectations with a dinner she prepared earlier this month at the James Beard House. And as a sort of victory lap, tonight and tomorrow she’s serving the menu from that dinner at Chabaa Thai. Both nights will be limited to one seating each at 6:30. She’s offering two different options: Five courses for $50, or seven courses for $65. The latter includes wine pairings. Highlights include Khao Kiep Pakk Mao, Thai rice flour crepes, minced pork loin, shredded coconut, ground peanuts, sweet daikon and cilantro roots, Sai Augh, grilled northern Thai sausage, galangal, Kaffir lime leaves, shallots, scallions, shrimp paste, and red curry, and Pla Samlee Dadd Deow, crispy smoked cotton fish with green mango salad and steamed jasmine rice.
