Laurent Gras Is Cuckoo for Pop-ups

At this morning’s unveiling of JBF LTD at Chelsea Market, triple-Michelin-starred chef Laurent Gras kept mum about his next move; “I’m leaving it open,” he demurred when we chatted him up. Still, Gras did reveal to Grub Street that after his five nights of sold-out James Beard Foundation dinners, he’ll go on to do at least three more pop-ups, including one at BLT Fish on May 2. The chef already partnered with Andrew Carmellini for a Mardi Gras event, and with Paul Liebrandt of Corton last week. Don’t expect any big moves for Gras this summer, though: Once he finishes this next round of dinners, he’s “going to the beach.”
