Hurry into Gargoyles pronto! Blue-haired maverick Jason Santos, who plans to open his own Greenway-area restaurant in June, confirms to us that Saturday will be his final day at the restaurant. More ahead.
He’s leaving his Davis Square perch to open his own place at 131 Broad Street in June. Per the Herald, he’s requesting help naming his restaurant. (He confesses to us that he’s had an “epiphany” about what the name might be, but he says he’s still very open to suggestions.)
The unnamed restaurant will have 50 seats and a 25-seat patio. Expect an upscale burger bar and liquid nitrogen milkshakes (yum!) at lunch, and funky Gargoyles-ish American fare at dinner.
And in the meantime, stop into Gargoyles for one last hurrah. On Saturday, Santos tells us, “I’m going to throw a party!” Seeing as though the guy is spotted holding court at every soiree in town, we believe him.
