Popular Carroll Gardens wine-and-charcuterie bar the JakeWalk quietly opened for brunch yesterday, “just to sorta see what happened,” says co-owner Patrick Watson. Brunch will be served on Saturdays and Sundays from here on out, a welcome addition to a slightly brunch-bereft corner of Carroll Gardens (unless you consider a pint at Bar Great Harry a meal — and, hey, we wouldn’t judge). Word has it that JakeWalk will have existing menu items like croque monsieur, now with a madame option, along with salt cod topped with poached eggs. Wait a minute, are they just adding eggs to all the existing dishes? Whatever, it still sounds good. And you never know, maybe you’ll run into David Wondrich.
