Ex-Globe Scribe Returns, With Cookbook

Joe Yonan, the former Globe writer who’s now food and travel editor at the Washington Post, is coming to town to promote his comprehensive new cookbook, Serve Yourself: Nightly Adventures in Cooking for One. If you’re tired of warming TV dinners in a stained microwave and yearn for something a bit less depressing (not to mention delicious!), you’re in luck. More ahead.

Yonan will perform a cooking demo and do a signing at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts on Saturday, April 9 at 10 a.m. Tickets are $20. On Monday, April 11, he’ll do a free demo and signing at Northeastern’s Xhibition Kitchen at noon.

And, if you’re really tired of dining alone, hit up Tremont 647 on Monday evening. Chef Andy Husbands will whip up a six-course meal, inspired by Yonan’s cookbook. Dinner plus the cookbook costs $57 and begins at 6 p.m.
