Knife Fight Doesn’t Curb Customers’ Lucali Cravings

So Lucali is open and making pies, although when we stopped by yesterday we noticed it took a nice Italian hiatus for Easter Sunday and will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The Carroll Gardens Patch investigated the scene last Friday and sure enough, there was a 45-minute wait for a table 10 minutes after the doors opened. Though Patch didn’t mention whether Mark Iacono himself was in the house, it did interview a longtime local who eats at Lucali “every Friday and Saturday night,” and who was happy to see the doors open. As for that whole little knife-fight incident, one Carroll Gardens elder, “who’s been living on Degraw Street his whole life,” tells the young reporter to take it easy: “These things happened a lot more a long time ago.” No kidding!
