Evanston Residents Take on the Tilted Kilt

Evanston residents have “launched a grassroots movement” to stop the expansion of the Tilted Kilt, which is honestly described on its website as a “modern American, Irish, Scottish and English sports pub.” Why? Well, much like Hooters, the uniform for waitresses is kind of revealing. According to its website, the “beautiful servers” must wear “knee-high socks and short, sexy plaid kilts with matching plaid bra’s under white camp shirts tantalizingly tied to show off the midriff.” Worried that this objectifies women, the group hopes to stop the Evanston Liquor Control Board from granting the restaurant a Class B1 liquor license. If you are unsure about where you fall on this issue and would like to experience the concept first hand (you know, so you can make a reasonable judgement), there are there are already locations in Chicago Ridge, Roselle, Elgin, and even in the Loop.
