There’s a Peanut Butter Exhibit This Weekend!

The Nutropolitan Museum of Art is taking over the Openhouse Gallery this weekend. Its goal (besides peanut-butter PR)? Showcasing photographs of Peanut Butter & Co. founder Lee Zalban’s endeavor to make a different sandwich for every day of the year. He forsook the standard jelly pairing for more interesting combinations, including a peanut butter, crab, and seaweed medley. (Maybe it’s better than it sounds?) At last night’s opening, the Nut was also serving up some predictable and not-so-predictable snacks for gallery-goers, like camarones ecacahuatados, penne with peanut pesto, and the PB&J; Hooray, a rich cocktail made with vodka, egg white, peanut butter, and whipped cream that was, um … interesting.
