Our dream Jonathan Gold-sponsored food festival entails closing off Pico for a day so every single restaurant can get in on the fun and commemorate the critic’s famous feast through the boulevard, but until then we have Gold Standard at The Petersen Automotive Museum, which is still pretty cool. Gold gathers about 40 of his beloved spots, some high-falutin’ and some everyday, to provide samples of their food while various mix-master generals crank out cocktails, beer, and wine. The event goes down this Sunday and provides a look at which L.A. restaurants are still Gold favorites after all of these years and which newbies are making an impression on L.A.’s foodiest. Get your first taste of Maison Giraud while enjoying Mozza and Tacos Baja Ensenada, Vincenti and Manila Machine, The Gorbals and Bludso’s, all in the same place. Tickets are $60 (VIP is sold out) and available online. A portion of proceeds go to Heal the Bay, where Gold’s brother is president. Check out the full list of participating restaurants below.
