Ted Mann, the Brooklyn restaurateur who recently helped open Cubana Social and No Name Bar, is now at work on a massive-sounding 800-seat beer garden due to open in South Slope in July, and Gold Coast, a deli that’ll open in Bay Ridge in June — and that’s not even the most interesting news. Brooklyn Based tells the nutso story of how the adoptee’s lost sister informed him that his biological dad was none other than Ted Nugent. “I got to his ranch and he was grilling elk he had shot for me,” he says of his first encounter with the man he never knew was his namesake. “We ate elk and then we went and shot guns.” One thing’s for sure: That beer garden is going to have some pretty sweet taxidermy now.
