Shares of Tasty Baking Co. traded for less than $2 yesterday, dimming prospects that the financially fraught Tastykake maker could pull out of its tailspin. At this point, things are looking grim, and the company’s only hope for survival is finding a buyer, PhillyDeals reports. Yesterday Tasty told investors that its accountant had doubts about the company’s ability to “continue as a going concern.” Ouch! What’s more, the company’s been so busy trying to line up investors or a buyer, that it hasn’t been able to get its annual earnings report together for the Securities and Exchange Commission. Still what we can’t figure out is, if someone can ressurect Newsweek, how hard can it be to resuscitate delicious Krimpets and Kandy Kakes? [PhillyDeals]
