Inside Edition Goes on Rat Patrol in Center City

Tabloid TV stalwart Inside Edition turned its peering lens on Philadelphia’s restaurants in recent weeks and is reporting back some icky news of the creepy crawly variety. Armed with nothing more than cameras, flashlights and patience, the Inside Edition crew peeped through the glass doors and windows at Center City spots like Ted’s Montana Grill, Mama Mia’s Pizzeria and the Cosi at 15th and Locust, only to find rodents running amok inside the restaurants. While the video evidence is damning, its worth noting that Ted’s Montana Grill went on the record to admit it had a rodent problem and was taking care of it. Still what’s even creepier is the pest control expert interviewed in the piece, who says that due to the city’s sprawling networks of 100-plus year old pipes, sealing rodents out of restaurants here is next to impossible.
