Yesterday, we learned that RH at Andaz was losing its French chef, today the restaurant tells us they have a new one to fill his shoes. Through a press release, RH at Andaz announces that Pierre Gornes, the sous chef here since 2009, will be its new executive chef. Gornes, like Archambault, was born in the Southwest region of France and worked for Hotel de Crillon and Alain Ducasse’s Aux Lyonnais in Paris and locally was found as a sous chef at Hotel Bel Air. So, lose a French chef, gain a French chef (he’s even kinda looks a little like the youthful, spirited Archambault). Hopefully for RH at Andaz, it just doesn’t lose them a star next time Virbila comes to dine. In other L.A. chef moves, we see the talented John Cuevas, until recently found at The Montage, has resurfaced at Corona Del Mar’s Crow Bar and Kitchen.
