First Look at Niki Nakayama’s N/Naka, Opening Soon in Palms

Next week Niki Nakayama, the former proprietor and chef at closed Melrose sushi stunner Azami, recently found at Arcadia’s Inaka, will soft-open her new restaurant N/Naka. The restaurant will serve Nakayama’s graceful omakase meals in a subtle, traditional space with a bonsai garden out front and no a la carte dishes available inside. Unfortunately, for the fans who can’t wait to see Nakayama back in artistic action, next week’s opening will be a soft one for friends and family by invite only, which will run a short eternity until April 18th, at which point N/Naka will be grand-opened and hopefully have its liquor license to stock a huge glass case with sake and wine. While you patiently wait, have a look at the finished restaurant space, designed simply by the ordinarily grand Tak Toda of TSL Designs, and start saving for this spot, which promises to stand out from the sushi pack.

N/Naka, 3455 S. Overland Ave. Palms. 310-836-6252.
