Remember this twin-set of restaurants coming to Sepulveda from an heir to Dinah’s Family Restaurant and partner Michael Dodo? Managers working on Bubba Diego’s and Crossroads BBQ tell us construction is just about finished and an opening is expected in two weeks. One one side, Bubba Diego’s will prepare Mexican food from scratch, including daily soups, sangritas, sopes, enchiladas, bonitos, and a ceviche station in this cantina-style space. On the other, you’ll find a smokehouse with brisket, ribs, and steaks, plus the tempting offer of fish ribs and a steady supply of booze in a room with bare brick and dark wood. We’re still not exactly sold on the name Bubba Diego’s, but we’re much more optimistic about the food. Take a look at our slide show of both spaces and look for an opening in April.
