Cochon 555 Finally Comes Around To L.A.

No longer do we need salivate over the good fortunes of other cities, L.A. is finally getting its own Cochon 555, the contest that finds five local chefs each cooking their own 175-pound heritage hog. On May 1st, Suzanne Tracht, Mozza’s Chad Colby, Palate’s Octavio Beccera, Ben Ford, and The Bazaar’s Josh Whigham will face-off for the audience’s votes, while five wines will be paired to their porky preparations. Currently, locations for both the competition and Bacon Hall of Fame after-party are yet to be announced, but tickets are being sold online. [LAT]
