There truly is no limit to the abilities of human ingenuity. Our resourcefulness and imagination has given us the capacity to conquer disease, build skyscrapers and send astronauts into space. And for our latest great accomplishment, we can thank the brilliant minds at Aramark. They’ve found a solution for a problem that has plagued Philadelphia for decades, or as Inqlings points out, since the Phillies last played Connie Mack. They’ve found a way to keep Tastykakes from melting off concession stand shelves! This season will be the first in Citizen’s Bank Park’s seven-year history where fans will be able to buy Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes, Butterscotch Krimpets and other Tastykakes from the stadium’s vendors. In years past, heat and humidity, which melted the hometown favorites beyond palatability, kept them out the park. How did Aramark overcome this snag? With refrigerators! The company is buying countertop refrigeration units to keep the Kakes cool. [NBC Philadelphia]
