Mono + Mono Midtown Will Indeed Close

Blasting off to the big chicken farm in the sky.

Rumors surfaced last week (via Questlove, of all people) that the Fifth Avenue location of Korean-fried-chicken restaurant Mono + Mono would close. We tracked down a rep for the company, who confirmed the news for Grub Street, saying: "Mono + Mono midtown is being closed and it is a matter of time now." Though she could not name an exact date, the rep did say that owner M.J. Chung will not keep the space but will concentrate instead on Mono + Mono's East Village chicken-and-jazz parlor. And she reconfirmed that Chung "has been thinking of opening another one."
