Tenderblog was invited in to preview the aforementioned, tiny Hyde Away Blues BBQ (457 Hyde Street at Geary), and the verdict is that their gumbo is “excellent,” and “filled with gloriously spicy shrimp, chicken and crab.” Also, they’ll be doing lots of Memphis-style grilled meats, and owner Lil May is saying they’ll be officially open by the end of the month, pending, probably, an inspection or other.
