Saving Hollywood Farmer's Market

Hollywood Farmer’s Market Organizers Ready the Troops

What began in North Africa and stretched to the Midwest could next be coming to the farmer’s market. Well, kinda, sorta. The L.A. Times reports that the feud currently ensnaring The Hollywood Farmer’s Market is still dragging on, with market organizers telling vendors that potential protests against Hollywood Film School could arise in April. The market forces claim that the school has not upheld a recent agreement to consider merging its different parking lots so as to continue offering access to street closures that the market depends on.

Even worse, while Hollywood Film School argues that it has been considering a joining of parking lots as a solution to the situation, plans have emerged that show the school angling to put a new building at the disputed site, making their intentions appear vastly more aggressive against the presence of the market. With only a little over six weeks until its temporary street permit expires, market organizers have sent a letter to vendors stating a possible need for protests, saying “we may need to again demonstrate.”
