Distilling the Truth About Brooklyn Gin

In todays "Tipsy Diaries," Frank Bruni investigates the trademark battle between Breuckelen and Brooklyn gins. The former is actually made in Brooklyn and has a slightly rougher, more intriguing bite, while the latter has a discernibly citrusy taste, along with a clean finish and is (for now, at least) made in the burbs, though Bruni catches a bartender at the Brooklyneer mistakenly thinking it hails from trendy Kings County. Oh, and neither producer has lived in Brooklyn for more than a few years. [NYT]
