Distilling the Truth About Brooklyn Gin

By

In today’s "Tipsy Diaries," Frank Bruni investigates the trademark battle between Breuckelen and Brooklyn gins. The former is actually made in Brooklyn and has a “slightly rougher, more intriguing bite,” while the latter has “a discernibly citrusy taste, along with a clean finish” and is (for now, at least) made in the ’burbs, though Bruni catches a bartender at the Brooklyneer mistakenly thinking it hails from trendy Kings County. Oh, and neither producer has lived in Brooklyn for more than a few years. [NYT]
