Cook, a sort of culinary clubhouse, demo space and cookbook library, is shooting for a June opening at the former home of Snackbar, which ended its four year run at 20th and Rittenhouse streets last month, Foobooz reports. The new project is being headed up by Audrey Taichman, whose restaurants Audrey Claire and Twenty Manning Grill are on the same block. It will serve as a resource for area chefs and restaurateurs, and host cooking classes, cookbook author events and “open stove” nights where rising stars will get the opportunity to shine. Oh, and in case you’re worried that Cook will be all about reading and learning, it will have a liquor license too. [Foobooz]
