Chef Shuffle

Chez TJ Loses Another Chef

Scott Nishiyama is moving on from Chez TJ, marking the second chef shuffle at the restaurant in the last year. Nishiyama took the helm last January after a fight over a Michelin star loss went public between owner George Aviet and former chef Bruno Chemel. That second star was earned by executive chef Christopher Kostow originally, in 2008, and as the Scoop reports, the small Mountain View restaurant has been a launchpad for several big names in the past few years, including Saison’s Joshua Skenes. There’s no word on a replacement, or where Nishiyama may be headed.
