Cafe Entourage is a titanic two-story restaurant and lounge planned at Hollywood and Vine for the end of February with chef Michael Ben of B&B; in Vegas and our own Aroma Cafe. The project is geared as a sort of utilitarian, “New York comes to L.A.” kind of vibe, staying open 24 hours Thursday through Saturday and offering a moody, contemporary atmosphere that combines a scene with a lounge with a restaurant. What’s on offer here?

A press release tells us the food will be affordable, with entrees starting at $10 (affordable) and occasionally reaching $35 (eh). Dishes mentioned so far from chef Ben are casual servings of sandwiches, panini, pasta, and pizza, along with a tuna salad, lamb chops, and beef stroganoff, which are labeled house specials (two of which, come to think of it, are house specials at Troika, too and definitely priced under ten bucks).

The deep-purple and white-trimmed contemporary decor has been handled by architects Steve Heath and Hilla Gottlieb, who are also responsible for the 24-foot lighting installation pictured here, while the restaurant will have a photo project from Tigran Tovmasyan.

So will we ever catch Vinny Chase and the gang sharing stroganoff in the first floor dining room? Maybe. But it sounds like the second story lounge and bar, complete with a 2,000 square-foot patio and projection screen for promotional events, screenings, and such, is the more likely hub for celebs and hangers-on.
