Adding to the list of new Logan Square openings is Rewster’s Cafe, which just opened today on Diversey Ave. Like nearby Bella Cafe, it seems to straddle the line between comfortable neighborhood coffee shop and casual restaurant. So there is free wifi and a dozen or so seats. But there is also a breakfast menu featuring a collection of pastries, egg dishes, and granola, and a lunch menu with five different sandwiches, including homemade roast beef, bretzel buns, and soups.
The owner told us that the shop will continue to serve the lunch menu until it closes at 8 p.m., and will also have at least one special dinner item a night. It’s also BYOB, and may add more dinner items if demand goes up. For now, at least, it’s another option in an increasingly vibrant Logan Square scene.
