Grub Street is sad to report that John Anderson, chef and owner of the Chestnut Hill mainstay Solaris Grille, this morning announced via Twitter that he “can no longer keep Solaris open.” Last night’s dinner was the restaurant’s last forever. In his farewell tweet, Anderson said, “time for a new adventure.” Solaris, which opened in 1996, is one of several restaurant closings this week. On Wednesday, Simon Pierce announced it was pulling the plug on its West Chester restaurant. It will continue to keep its retail operations open until February 13.

More bad news this week from the Brandywine Valley: Pace One Restaurant and Country Inn called it quits, the Insider reports.
