Open a few months now, the Foodshed Market hasnt received as much fanfare as other foodie weekend destinations (Hester Street Fair, Brooklyn Flea, etc.), but the Sunday farmers' market that sets up at the Commons (a community and educational center at 388 Atlantic Avenue near Bond Street in Boerum Hill) has been quietly hosting local farmers as well as vendors like Better Butter, Orwashers, and Raaka Chocolate. Now the folks at Lukes Lobster tell us the Foodshed is setting up an upstairs prepared foods section, and Lukes will be cooking next to National Crab, a start-up selling Chesapeake Bay crabcakes and soup. New Englands favorite sandwich will battle the mid-Atlantics!
Also on offer: Dimples Dumplings, Corey Belles vegan soups, Pure Goodies toffee, Swoon Sweets and Savories, and Beyond Kombucha. This Sunday from 11 a.m. till 5 p.m., therell be free tastings, laco-ferment demonstrations, and live folk music? Oh, Brooklyn.
