Management Shuffle at Locke-Ober


We already told you that the “Taj Mahal of Boston restaurants” would be closing until March for renovations, and now the Herald has it that Locke-Ober is also undergoing a behind-the-scenes makeover: Locke-Ober Co. president David Ray — who had handed off control of the business operations in 2001 — has regained day-to-day control of the old-school eatery. (Don’t worry, Lobster Savannah lovers; chef Lydia Shire tells the Herald she’ll still be in charge of the kitchen.) A spokesman for the restaurant also hints that it’s “likely” the restaurant will be re-opening sooner than the original March time frame: “Hopefully within the next week we’ll have more to announce,” he told the paper.
