Lance Corralez Named New Exec Chef at World Cafe

Chef Lance Corralez has worked seemingly everywhere in L.A., from Pacific Palisades’ Bel Air Bay Club to West Hollywood’s The Abbey to Pasadena’s Bar Celona. The chef is now back on the Westside, having been named the new exec chef at Santa Monica’s Main Street mainstay World Cafe. Corralez counts Taix, Barbarella Bar, Mickey’s, Morton’s, Engine Co. No. 28, and Smitty’s Grill among the places he’s served in the executive position and he also partnered on the purchase of Pasadena’s Old Town Bakery in 1999. No word on what he has in store for World Cafe, if anything new just yet, with the exception of a blueberry pancake lunch and dinner he’s offering this Friday at eight bucks a pop. His bio states that he also launched Angeles Golf Club, so who knows, maybe that will bring an appearance from fans Will Ferrell or Don Cheadle in funny plaid pants.
