Jimmy John’s Might Leave the State Over Tax Increase

We were warned that the recent corporate tax hike in Illinois might make some businesses move out of the state, and now it looks like Jimmy John’s — which is based in Champaign — might make good on the offer. The sandwich chain has over 1,000 outlets across the country, and according to owner Jimmy John Liautaud, may be looking to move the headquarters to a place where the company feels “wanted and important.” Mr. Liautaud has already moved his family to South Florida, and he told the News-Gazette, “All they do is stick it to us.” [Crain’s]
