Hoping for the Death of Flash Websites in 2011

“#10: Useless restaurant websites. I can’t believe I have to go over the basics, but here goes: no flash intro (thanks for wasting my time for 20 seconds, can I just get the information I’m looking for?); hell, no flash at all (how do you expect all these iPhone/iPad users to look at your website?); LIST YOUR GODDAMN CROSS STREET—why are you making me go to Google Maps to find you? (Rude.)” — Tablehopper’s Marcia Gagliardi in her annual list of trends that should die. We’re definitely tired of “trends that should die” lists, but we have to concur on this one. Especially since among the web-savvy, the flash trend should have died in 2002, and restaurants especially should have their info easily and quickly viewable on a mobile phone. [Tablehopper]
