Health Department Shutters Totonno’s in Kips Bay

By

The Kips Bay branch of Totonnos is closed after a run-in with the Health Department last week. The pizzeria racked up a hefty 94 points during a January 13 inspection that turned up food-temperature and contamination issues (see report below). There was a follow-up inspection the next day, but it remained closed owing to further evidence of mice and roaches. A woman who answered the phone declined to comment on the exact nature of the violations, but said the pizzeria may reopen tomorrow or Wednesday, depending on when the oven can be cemented.
