GraffEats to Do ‘Covers’ of Achatz and Tusk Dishes During NoisePop Fest

Just as musicians exist in dialogue with each other, frequently covering each others’ songs and riffing on others’ melodies in their own work, chefs are always building on the work of others. Sure, we have our iconoclasts, but even they will admit their debts to the greats. And so we appreciate events like the one that graffEats chef Blair Warsham is doing in conjunction with the NoisePop music festival next month. Warsham is teaming with Turntable Kitchen (a food and music site that does ‘musical pairings’ among other things), and Jesse Fox of FoxconSox Consulting to do a two-night supper club of “covers” on February 17 and 18 featuring dishes by well known chefs like Michel Bras, Michael Tusk of Quince, and Grant Achatz whose restaurant Alinea in Chicago recently garnered three Michelin stars.

The dinners are BYOB, $65 a person, and will have very limited seating. Buy tickets for the February 17 seatings here, and for the February 18 seatings here.

This all happens at the NoisePop pop-up shop, which will be in the Fifty24SF gallery space at 218 Fillmore Street.

The Times said this underground dining thing was booming, and now 7x7 just put together a little list of underground dining clubs with events coming up, including Stag Dining, and Tommy Halvorson’s rather pricey Phoenix Supper Club. [7x7]
