It seems Wonder City Coffee & Donuts is not the city’s only pastry pop-up. Grub Street hears that Flex Mussels executive pastry chef Zac Young (whom you might know from Top Chef Just Desserts) has opened Flex Donuts, a pop-up slated to run for two weeks inside Grand Central Station. Young himself will be peddling the fritters (versions of which he serves at both Flex Mussels locations) every day from noon to 6 p.m., in the take-out section of Zócalo restaurant in the lower dining concourse. Flavors include salted cajeta (goat’s milk caramel), raspberry, spiced chocolate, cinnamon sugar, and two more changing options. The pop-up runs Monday through Friday for the next two weeks, beginning today, and doughnuts will set you back $1.50 a pop.
