Excitement in Central Square: Later Hours for Flour, Plus Veggie Planet Hopes to Become A Galaxy By July

Big news out of Central Square: First off, Mass Avenue’s Flour Bakery will stay open until 8 p.m. on weeknights starting today, meaning you can work yourself into a sugar coma for one more hour each evening. But wait, there’s more!

Crunchy Harvard Square pizzeria Veggie Planet is now eyeing a July opening date for Veggie Galaxy. The Herald reported back in December that the diner will serve “vegan riffs on classic diner fare.” Management tells Grub Street that a July opening seems most likely at this point. So you can load up on frosting, then begin detoxing just in time for bathing suit weather! Though we do wonder if the opening might cut into organic cafe Life Alive’s customer base a bit.

In other news, Adam’s Tourism & Industry blog notes that once-bankrupt OM will open a new spot called Moska in the neighborhood.
