In Carroll Gardens, Diego, the Mexican restaurant Ivy Stark denied being involved in, has revealed its menu (see it over at Pardon Me for Asking). Meanwhile, in the East Village, another chef with ties to Dos Caminos, the restaurant’s opening sous-chef Ross Gill, is consulting on the first solo project from David Duran, the opening GM at MXco. El Camion, as it’s called, isn’t actually a truck; it’s a pine-paneled corner spot with 40 seats, plus twelve at a bar where the house margaritas are spiked with Patron. It’s located right around the corner from Diablo Royale Este (where Gill was also a consultant) and a couple of blocks from Mercadito and Mercadito Cantina, meaning Alphabet City has basically become Taco Town. El Camion will be open Sunday through Wednesday, from 4 p.m. till 11 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday till 1 a.m.; and there’ll be brunch as well as, eventually, lunch. Check out the menus below, and the space and some of the cocktails via our slideshow.
