Carnegie Deli Sues for Survival; Di Fara Gets an Upgrade

According to the Post, the Carnegie Deli has filed a lawsuit against its next-door neighbor, which apparently no longer wants to continue leasing out a space that the Carnegie uses for seating. The space also happens to contain the Carnegie’s legally mandated exit door, and the lawsuit alleges that “the failure to obtain a public assembly permit may, and likely will, result in the closure of the Carnegie Deli.” Will the venerable deli have to pull a 2nd Avenue Deli and find new digs? Meanwhile, another institution just got an upgrade: I Dream of Pizza visits Di Fara after it was closed for renovations. Thankfully, the changes (a new coat of paint, menu board, etc.) are slight.
