Chef Brian Ng caught us sniffing around his forthcoming Downtown restaurant Spice Table yesterday. Instead of hauling us to the woodshed for a swift lashing, the Mozza, Campanile, La Folie, and Daniel vet gave us the good word that the restaurant, once expected this past fall, is currently in its inspection-phase. Ng says hopes are currently running high for an opening at the end of January or in the first week of February. Ng plans an homage to the cooking of Singapore, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia alongside today’s raging requisite: craft beer. The cuisine will include satays, stews, noodles, and curries, with the help of a wood-burning hearth and house-baked bread, handmade charcuterie and pickles.
