That new Cooking Light column wasn’t enough for Mark Bittman. Yahoo’s Cutline reports that this Wednesday, he’ll retire his thirteen-year-old “Minimalist” column in order to branch out into an online (and occasionally in-print) “Opinion” column that’ll tackle “food policy, environmentally sustainable eating, and issues at the intersection of diet and health” every Wednesday. He’ll also be writing a two-page “On Food” column for the new Times Magazine. “Minimalist” fans can rest easy — his TV show of the same name will debut on the Cooking Channel in March.
Elsewhere in the ever-evolving food-media world, Bon Appétit is rolling out a $500,000 ad campaign that they hope will convey, “a new energy and enthusiasm at Bon Appétit under the new Editor-in-Chief Adam Rapoport,” per a release. The tagline? “Bite Me.” How very Abbe Diaz of them!
