A Night Market, and a Mac-and-Cheese Battle Royale Go Down at Public Works

The Public Works (161 Erie), the new club venue and gallery over near Mission and 14th, is co-hosting a night market this weekend with ForageSF (the folks behind the Underground Farmers Market). On Saturday, January 15, there’ll first be a day market starting at 11 a.m., featuring music, hot food, and a few items that you might find at their other markets like sauces and foraged seaweeds. But the night portion will be weighted more toward hot food and beverages, and goes from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., and will be more of a party atmosphere we imagine. But that’s not all!

Public Works is also playing host to SF Food Wars’ latest battle, happening February 12. This time it’s “Return of the Mac (Battle Royale w/Cheese,” and it’s a mac-and-cheese competition. If you’ve got a killer mac-and-cheese recipe up your sleeve, we suggest you email these folks and become one of the sixteen competitors. We imagine the gals from Homeroom (opening soon in Oakland) might want to battle it out too… The event benefits SF Food Bank.

Also, here’s the list of vendors for the day and night markets on Saturday, and the lineup of entertainers. Admission is $5 all day, but goes up to $10 after 11 p.m.
