With each new outpost of his Old Philly Style Sandwich shops, Tony Luke seems to be pushing further and further out from his South Philly base of operations. But seriously, Bahrain was the last place on Earth we expected the Clown Prince of Roast Pork to open his latest location. Sure enough, Luke opened at Reem Center, near East Riffa, Bahrain yesterday, according to Foobooz. In a special opening ceremony, Luke presented His Excellency, Dr. Hassan Bin Abdulla Fakhro, Minister of Industry & Commerce for the Kingdom of Bahrain with Philadelphia’s flag. There’s no word yet on how his roast pork Italian is going over with Bahrain’s avowed pork abstainers. [Foobooz]
