The Pub & Kitchen crew — you know the guys behind the hippest New York bar in Philly that we told you about last week — are the guest of honor for the monthly industry night at Amis tonight, and they’re bringing their LaFreida Churchill burgers and barrel aged cocktails along to the party. The barrel aged cocktail is a Manhattan 1946, made with Sazerac Rye, Dubonnet, housemade blood orange bitters and aged in an oak cask for a little more than a month. “It really changes the whole characteristic of the cocktail,” Pub & Kitchen co-owner Ed Hackett told Grub Street. “The oak cask adds oaky sweetness, vanilla and a slightly charred flavor to it.”
For its part, Amis is serving fried pig tails and mortadella hot dogs with homemade mostarda. LaFreida meats will also be representing. The evening kicks off at 10 p.m. Guest must present a recent paycheck stub to gain entry.
