Hopefully how the steak and ale pie looks like…
Art Jackson, the co-owner of the upcoming Pleasant House Bakery in Bridgeport, claims he got the idea to open a shop selling savory pies from his grandmother: “She was an excellent cook, and told me that if I ever opened my own place, it should sell pies.” The eatery will feature a collection of seasonal offerings, with many of the ingredients coming from his own garden. The pies will be individually sized, and you can expect a steak and ale, steak and cheese, and various vegetable pies to make the list. He’ll be opening it with his wife Chelsea Kalberloh-Jackson, and it will feature 15 to 20 seats, with an outdoor patio in the summer. It is tentatively set to open in the spring. But you can follow along with the process over on their blog.
