As we reported back in July, Watertown’s adored Deluxe Town Diner has designs on Newton Centre. We were originally told the Deluxe Station Diner (same menu; same old-school charm) would launch in September. However, we were forced to artery-clog elsewhere when the much-anticipated opening didn’t happen. Then, a ribbon-cutting was slated for December 16 … but still no diner. Chowhound then suggested the opening would take place on December 20, but that too was a pipe dream. In desperate need of pastrami ‘n eggs, we slammed down our maple syrup and called the Town Diner for information. And we were assured that the opening will indeed happen … next week. For real. We promise.
